For our diverse range of topics, we are seeking support in the analysis and processing of geodata with a focus on remote sensing and the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Your tasks

Support with …

  • integrative analyses of data from the fields of remote sensing (radar, optical, temperature, LiDAR)
  • conducting time series analyses of long-term observation data
  • development of classifications using machine learning/AI
  • creation of scripts and algorithms for data analysis (preferably in Python)
  • processing geodata with open source GIS tools such as QGIS and GRASS GIS
  • documentation of project results in German and English
  • participation in the development of concepts and products based on our activities

Your profile
  • enrolled student in a geoscience, environmental or technical degree programme (e.g. geography, geoinformatics, environmental sciences, computer science)
  • independent, structured and solution-oriented approach to work
  • good communication skills in German and English
Preferred qualification
  • basic knowledge of geodata analysis and remote sensing
  • basic knowledge of machine learning/AI is an advantage
  • experience with Python or other scripting languages as well as with open source GIS tools (e.g. QGIS, GRASS GIS) is desirable
