National Forum for Remote Sensing and Copernicus 2020
From 10-12 March, the “National Forum for Remote Sensing and Copernicus 2020” will take place in Berlin. The motto of the conference will be “Copernicus: new dimensions”. The core of the new dimensions is the entry into force of EU’s new Space Regulation, which will ensure the continued operation of the European Copernicus program for another seven years. The Forum is thus also dedicated specifically to the future and further development of the European earth observation program.
We at mundialis use Copernicus data and services in many of our projects. These include the automated generation of training data within the framework of fibre-optic network route planning (FTTH) or the identification of train paths in protected forests in West Africa. In the HERMOSA platform, which is currently under development, sentinel data are evaluated to make statements about the reforestation of degraded areas. Of course we will be present at the Copernicus Forum and are looking forward to meet colleagues and business partners and also to find new contacts.
At the poster session, which is one agenda item at the forum, we will present our scalable Open Source Rest-API actinia. actinia allows scalable, distributed, high-performance processing of different kinds of geo- and remote sensing data. Users can process satellite images, time series of satellite images, but also arbitrary raster and vector data with geographical references in a cloud environment.
We are looking forward meeting you at the forum!
