WANDEL project meeting at mundialis: Does restricted water availability accelerate the energy transition?
mundialis is hosting in their offices in Bonn a workshop to bring the discussions further about the WANDEL project (“Wasserressourcen als bedeutende Faktoren der Energiewende auf lokaler und globaler Ebene”) financed by BMBF through the funding program GRoW (Globale Ressource Wasser). WANDEL project is a research project funded for the period between August 2017 to July 2020.
To gather the partners’ valuable feedback on the WANDEL-Share geoportal conception and development, remote sensing and geodata requirements as well as analysis methods, the WANDEL project consortium will be meeting for a 1.5 days long workshop from 31.01.2018 to 01.02.2018 in Bonn in our office.
On the first day we will focus on presenting and discussing in an interactive way the functionalities and the look & feel of the central WANDEL project platform: the geoportal WANDEL-Share. Additionally, some suggestions and discussion will follow about establishing possible tools for a collaborative work and communication with the various partners of the WANDEL project. The deadline for reporting is upcoming soon and some time is scheduled for information exchange and reporting process. General open questions will be collected which can be further discussed in a relaxed atmosphere during dinner for the next day.
The second day will be divided in two parts. The first part will be about a common discussion about the needs and requirements of the different partners in terms of remote sensing and geodata in the context of the WANDEL project and its respective working packages. In addition, a time slot is foreseen to revisit WANDEL-Share functionalities (for collecting new ideas and raise use case discussions). The second part is open for working groups, i.e. for partners who would like to stay the afternoon and use the opportunity for further discussion or other aspects related to the WANDEL project (e.g. indicators for water security and governance, reporting, etc.).
